Knowing your worth as a job candidate
I think it's probably common for job seekers to think that companies hold all the cards when hiring, but I'd argue it's way more symbiotic than it might seem. It's actually quite hard for companies to find good candidates for their roles, so it's definitely not a one way street. Both sides are looking for a good match.
So as a candidate, know your worth, be confident, and don't break on the values and principles that mean the most to you. If a company blatantly violates something important to you, it's probably better to know that up front and politely bow out of interviews than have to resign in six months and do it all over again.
