When someone says “you won’t need to be technical in 10 years because AI will do it all”, it’s very likely that…
- That person doesn’t have deep technical skills and therefore has no real understanding of what they’re saying.
- They’re trying to make themselves feel better about the first point You will always, always benefit by having deep technical skills.
The exact shape, proportion, and level of abstraction of those skills will change over time, but the ability to understand how things work and to be a hands on builder is never going to magically disappear.
